Core funding for Museums and Galleries Month is provided by Museums Libraries Archives Council (MLA) through Renaissance in the Regions. Art galleries and museums are encouraged to work in collaboration to develop the appreciation of contemporary art. As part of this programme, MGM launches Focus on Art during MGM this year; this will be further developed over the next two years.
MGM2006 received additional support from the Coral Samuel Foundation, the Foyle Foundation, Borders, the Welsh Assembly Government, MLA London and the Mayor of London.
