In 1999, The Campaign for Museums and mda (Museums Documentation Association) created the 24 Hour Museum website with support from the Department for Culture Media and Sport. In 2001 this became an independent registered charity and is still closely linked to the development and support of Museums and Galleries Month.
The Campaign for Museums also organises Marketing conferences for the cultural sector; usually two per year. More details of these are on The Campaign for Museums website.
The Campaign for Museums is also active in the sector generally. It is one of the representative trustees on the board of The Museum Prize Trust, which presents the annual Gulbenkian Prize.
The full accounts of The Campaign for Museums are available on request and are also on the Charity Commission’s website. The abbreviated annual report and accounts are available on www.campaignformuseums.org.uk.
