The MGM Arts Coordinator will also be setting up a series of seminars working with engage (the National Association for Gallery Education). These seminars will take place around the UK and will be aimed at those in museums and heritage attractions who would like to be more ambitious about their arts activities. They will be about working with artists and creating special events for MGM as well as ways of working with artists to develop souvenirs and gifts, and commission original work for display.

Museumaker in East Midlands has created a template for how this can be done on a regional basis. The MGM Arts Coordinator will take forward the lessons learnt from that initiative to others in the sector and across the country, who may be working on a smaller scale.

The MGM Arts Coordinator will update and improve the advice we provide already through the MGM Arts Toolkit prepared by engage and VAGA and make that information available both online and in print. The Coordinator will also encourage the larger art galleries around the UK to take a fresh look at MGM and see how they can contribute to the month.
