Museums and Galleries Month is the UK-wide celebration of museums and galleries in May. MGM2008 has now come to an end - details of future plans will appear on this website.
"Brilliant event; loved the vibrancy of the atmosphere, the way our senses were bombarded from every direction."
Just one comment from a Museums at Night visitor (this one in Oxford) as museums and galleries were buzzing around the country over the Museums at Night Weekend - May 16 - 18.
Museums and Galleries Month is organised by The Campaign for Museums,
a registered charity, with support from Museums Libraries and Archives Council (MLA) through its Renaissance programme and Arts Council England.
MGM 2008 is making the most of the exciting opportunities offered by new media and social networking. A dedicated Museums and Galleries Month group is now up and running on Facebook.
It's time to evaluate this year's Museums and Galleries Month. Our evaluation forms are now available; the deadline is 11 June but the sooner you return your form (after May) the better..
Find out what's going on in a museum or gallery or a specific date by searching our database, which we share with the 24 Hour Museum. To find MGM events, enter the dates - May 1 to May 31.
Frustrated curators can now set up their own museum! Now live on the 24 Hour Museum, Museum of Me features contributions from Antony Gormley, Margaret Hodge MP, Minister for Culture, and Wayne Hemingway. Museum of Me also invites members of the public to take part.
